Attio is the CRM that startups and investors adopted first: a flexible data model, a fast interface, and AI that researches and enriches records rather than just drafting emails. HubSpot is the platform those companies used to grow into, with marketing, sales and service on one record and a marketplace behind it. In 2026 the two overlap more than they did, and Attio's July price increase closed part of the cost gap. Here is where they stand, from each vendor's own pricing page.
Disclosure: AutomateNexus CRM is our product and competes with both. Attio prices are quoted from Attio's pricing page and HubSpot prices from HubSpot's Sales Hub pricing page as published in September 2026. Attio raised prices in July 2026, so guides quoting $29 and $69 seats describe the old lineup.
The short answer
Choose Attio if your team is small to mid-sized, technical enough to enjoy modelling its own objects and lists, and wants a CRM that feels like a modern product rather than a legacy one; its Plus plan at $35 a seat covers teams up to ten, and Pro at $79 removes the seat cap. Choose HubSpot if marketing and customer service need to live on the same record as sales, if you want the biggest ecosystem in the category, and if you can carry Professional at $90 a seat plus onboarding. If the AI is the reason you are looking, read the credits section before you decide either way.
Pricing side by side
| Tier | Attio (per seat) | HubSpot Sales Hub (per seat) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free: up to 3 seats, 50,000 records, no time limit | Free: up to 2 users |
| Entry / mid | Plus: $35/mo annual, $44 monthly; up to 10 seats | Starter: $20/mo monthly, less on an annual commitment; 500 HubSpot Credits |
| Upper | Pro: $79/mo annual, $99 monthly; no seat limit | Professional: $90/mo annual, $100 monthly; $1,500 one-time onboarding; 3,000 credits |
| Top | Enterprise: custom, quoted from 10 seats | Enterprise: from $150/mo; $3,500 one-time onboarding; 5,000 credits |
Attio charges no onboarding fee; HubSpot requires $1,500 on Professional and $3,500 on Enterprise. Attio's Plus plan caps a workspace at ten seats, which is the detail that moves growing teams to Pro. And both vendors now meter AI: Attio with a per-seat allowance plus a per-workspace pool, HubSpot with HubSpot Credits sold at $9 per 1,000 on annual terms.
What a ten-person team pays
Illustrative, annual billing, before add-ons:
- Attio Plus: 10 × $35 = $350 a month, $4,200 a year (ten seats is the plan's ceiling).
- Attio Pro: 10 × $79 = $790 a month, $9,480 a year.
- HubSpot Sales Hub Starter: 10 × $20 = $200 a month on monthly billing, no onboarding fee.
- HubSpot Sales Hub Professional: 10 × $90 = $900 a month, $10,800 a year, plus $1,500 onboarding in year one.
At ten seats Attio Pro and HubSpot Professional are within $110 a month of each other before HubSpot's onboarding fee, which is a much smaller gap than a year ago. The eleventh seat is the fork: Attio requires Pro, HubSpot lets you stay on Starter as long as its feature set holds.
Where Attio is better
- The data model. Objects, attributes, lists and relationships you define yourself, with a spreadsheet-fast interface on top. If your business does not look like "contacts, companies, deals", Attio bends to it more gracefully than HubSpot's custom objects, which are an Enterprise feature there.
- Speed and feel. It is the CRM people describe as pleasant. Keyboard-driven, quick to load, quick to filter.
- AI that works on records. Research agents that enrich and qualify companies, call recording and summaries, and workflow steps that call a model, all inside the plan allowances.
- Price below ten seats. Plus at $35 with no onboarding fee is a lot of CRM for a seed-stage team, and the free tier's 50,000 records is generous.
Where HubSpot is better
- Marketing and service on the same record. Attio is a sales and relationship CRM; email campaigns, landing pages, ticketing and knowledge bases are HubSpot's other hubs, not Attio features.
- Ecosystem. The App Marketplace, the partner agencies, the templates and the hiring pool are all larger by an order of magnitude.
- Reporting and forecasting depth at Professional and above, built for sales leaders rather than founders.
- Predictability at scale. Enterprise procurement, compliance paperwork and multi-team permissions are worn paths at HubSpot; Attio's Enterprise tier is younger.
How each one meters AI
Attio resets two allowances every month: a per-seat allowance (100 credits on Free, 500 on Plus, 1,000 on Pro, 2,500 on Enterprise) and a separate per-workspace pool (250, 1,500, 10,000 and custom). Research agents, call intelligence and AI workflow steps draw from them. HubSpot bundles HubSpot Credits per plan (500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional, 5,000 on Enterprise) with top-ups at $9 per 1,000 on annual terms; Breeze agents and AI features consume them, and unused credits do not roll over. The practical difference: Attio's AI is aimed at the data (who is this company, is it a fit, what happened on the call), HubSpot's at the go-to-market motion (prospecting sequences, customer replies, data hygiene). Neither includes an AI phone receptionist or an SDR agent that works a lead list under an approval rule as part of the plan price.
Migration and lock-in
Moving from HubSpot to Attio is a common path for startups and Attio has import tooling for it; moving the other way happens when a company adds a marketing team. In both directions the hard part is the model, not the rows: HubSpot's lifecycle stages and hub-wide properties versus Attio's custom objects and lists. Our CRM migration checklist covers the sequence for either move.
A third option: flat pricing with the AI included
If the comparison comes down to AI credits and seat counts, AutomateNexus CRM is priced without either: flat monthly plans from $49 with unlimited contacts on every plan, Karrie and eight AI agents included with no credits or per-seat AI fee, and the client portal, quotes and invoicing, booking, white-label and an AI phone receptionist on your own Twilio number in the same price. It does not have Attio's freeform data modelling or HubSpot's Marketing Hub, and it is built for teams that serve clients rather than for venture-backed sales teams. Attio vs HubSpot FAQ
Is Attio cheaper than HubSpot?
Below ten seats, yes: Attio Plus is $35 a seat a month on annual billing with no onboarding fee, against HubSpot Professional at $90 plus $1,500 onboarding. Above ten seats Attio requires Pro at $79, which is close to HubSpot Professional's price. HubSpot Starter at $20 is cheaper than any paid Attio plan.
Does Attio have a free plan?
Yes, for up to three seats and 50,000 records with no time limit, with limited automation and object types. HubSpot's CRM is free for up to two users.
What changed in Attio's pricing in 2026?
Attio raised prices in July 2026: Plus moved to $35 a seat on annual billing ($44 monthly) and Pro to $79 ($99 monthly). Guides quoting $29 and $69 describe the previous lineup.
How do Attio and HubSpot charge for AI?
Both meter it. Attio gives each seat a monthly credit allowance plus a per-workspace pool that scales with the plan; HubSpot bundles HubSpot Credits per plan and sells more at $9 per 1,000 on annual terms.
Can Attio replace HubSpot for marketing?
No. Attio is a sales and relationship CRM; email campaigns, landing pages, ads attribution and ticketing are HubSpot hubs that Attio does not offer, so a team that needs them pairs Attio with other tools.
Which is better for a startup?
Attio for a technical founding team under ten seats that wants to model its own data and move fast. HubSpot once marketing and customer success need the same record, or when the ecosystem and hiring pool start to matter more than the interface.
