Pipedrive and HubSpot are the two CRMs most small and mid-sized teams shortlist, and they are built for different buyers. Pipedrive is a sales pipeline first and everything else second; HubSpot is a platform for the whole go-to-market team where the CRM is the foundation. The price lists say the same thing in numbers. Here is the comparison as it stands in September 2026, from each vendor's own pricing page.

Disclosure: AutomateNexus CRM is our product and competes with both. Competitor prices are quoted from Pipedrive's pricing page and HubSpot's Sales Hub pricing page as published in September 2026; check them before you decide.

The short answer

Choose Pipedrive if what you need is a fast, likeable sales pipeline for a team that mostly sells, and you want to pay per seat from $14 a month without onboarding fees. Choose HubSpot if sales is one part of a marketing, sales and service operation that should share one customer record, you have the budget for Professional at $90 a seat plus onboarding, and you want the largest app ecosystem in the category. If you want the AI and the extras (portal, invoicing, white-label) included in a flat price, look at a third option at the end.

Pricing side by side

PlanPipedrive (per seat)HubSpot Sales Hub (per seat)
FreeNo free plan (14-day trial)Free for up to 2 users
EntryLite: $14/mo annual, $24 monthlyStarter: $20/mo monthly, less on an annual commitment; 500 HubSpot Credits
MidGrowth: $39/mo annual, $49 monthlyProfessional: $90/mo annual, $100 monthly; $1,500 one-time onboarding; 3,000 credits
UpperPremium: $59/mo annual, $79 monthlyEnterprise: from $150/mo; $3,500 one-time onboarding; 5,000 credits
TopUltimate: $79/mo annual, $99 monthlyContact sales

Two structural differences matter more than any single number. HubSpot charges a required onboarding fee on Professional ($1,500) and Enterprise ($3,500); Pipedrive charges none. And HubSpot's AI runs on HubSpot Credits, an allowance included per plan with more at $9 per 1,000 when paid annually, that resets monthly and does not roll over; Pipedrive's AI features are tied to plan tier rather than a credit meter.

What a ten-person sales team pays

Illustrative, annual billing where offered, before add-ons:

  • Pipedrive Growth: 10 × $39 = $390 a month, $4,680 a year.
  • Pipedrive Premium: 10 × $59 = $590 a month, $7,080 a year.
  • HubSpot Sales Hub Starter: 10 × $20 = $200 a month on monthly billing, no onboarding fee.
  • HubSpot Sales Hub Professional: 10 × $90 = $900 a month, $10,800 a year, plus $1,500 onboarding in year one.

Starter is HubSpot's honest competitor to Pipedrive on price. The gap opens at the Professional tier, where HubSpot's price buys sequences, forecasting, custom reporting and the automation depth a growing team eventually wants, and where Pipedrive's Premium and Ultimate plans answer with most of the same at a lower seat price and no onboarding fee.

Where Pipedrive is better

  • The pipeline itself. Deals move across stages with the next activity always visible; reps adopt it without being told to. This is still the reason people pick it.
  • Price at small seat counts. $14 to $79 a seat with no onboarding fee is the cheapest credible way to run a real pipeline for a team of three to fifteen.
  • Time to value. A team is working deals the same afternoon; HubSpot's Professional onboarding exists because there is more to set up.
  • Focus. Fewer hubs, fewer settings, fewer places for a process to sprawl.

Where HubSpot is better

  • One record across marketing, sales and service. If your marketing team runs campaigns and your support team answers tickets, HubSpot's hubs share the contact; Pipedrive covers that with add-ons and marketplace apps.
  • Reporting and forecasting depth on Professional and above.
  • Ecosystem. The app marketplace and the number of agencies who know HubSpot are unmatched in this category.
  • Free to start. Two users can run the free CRM indefinitely, which Pipedrive does not offer.
  • AI agents. Breeze agents for prospecting, customer and data work are built in and metered by credits, which makes their cost visible.

How each one does AI

HubSpot's approach is agents plus a meter: each plan includes a credit allowance (500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional, 5,000 on Enterprise) that AI actions consume, with more credits sold at $9 per 1,000 on annual terms. Predictable at low volume, a line to watch at high volume. Pipedrive's AI, an assistant, email drafting and summaries, comes with its plans by tier rather than by usage; read its plan matrix for exactly which features unlock where, because that has changed with its plan renames. Neither includes an AI phone receptionist or an AI SDR agent that works leads on its own; both treat AI as help for the rep rather than as a worker with approvals.

Moving from one to the other

Both import CSV and both have migration partners. The work is not the data, it is the process: HubSpot's lifecycle stages, lead status and hub-wide properties do not map one-to-one to Pipedrive's pipelines and custom fields, so budget a week to redefine stages, automations and reports rather than a day to move rows. Our CRM migration checklist is vendor-neutral and covers the sequence.

A third option: flat pricing with the AI included

If the reason you are comparing these two is that per-seat pricing plus add-ons keeps climbing, AutomateNexus CRM is priced differently: $49, $149, $349 and $597 a month for 5, 10, 25 and unlimited users, unlimited contacts on every plan, Karrie and eight AI agents included with no credits or per-seat AI fee, and the client portal, quotes and invoicing, booking, white-label and an AI phone receptionist on your own Twilio number in the same price. It does not have HubSpot's marketing and service hubs or Pipedrive's decade of pipeline polish, and it is the right fit for teams that serve clients rather than pure inside-sales teams. Pipedrive vs HubSpot FAQ

Which is cheaper, Pipedrive or HubSpot?

For a pure sales team, Pipedrive: $14 to $79 a seat a month on annual billing and no onboarding fee. HubSpot's Starter at $20 a seat is close, but Professional costs $90 a seat plus a $1,500 onboarding fee, and Enterprise starts at $150 plus $3,500.

Does HubSpot have a free plan and does Pipedrive?

HubSpot's CRM is free for up to two users. Pipedrive has a 14-day trial and no free plan.

Is Pipedrive good for marketing?

It is a sales CRM. Email campaigns, projects and similar come as Pipedrive add-ons or marketplace apps; HubSpot's Marketing Hub is a full product on the same record.

How does HubSpot charge for AI?

With HubSpot Credits: an allowance per plan that AI agents and features consume, topped up at $9 per 1,000 credits when paid annually. Unused credits reset monthly and do not roll over.

Which is better for a small business with five people?

If they mostly sell, Pipedrive Growth at $39 a seat or HubSpot Starter at $20 a seat are both sensible; pick on the pipeline feel versus the free marketing tools. If they also run client work, invoicing and support, a flat-priced platform that includes those may cost less than either once add-ons are counted.

Can I switch from Pipedrive to HubSpot later?

Yes. Both import CSV and have partners for larger moves. Plan for the process redesign, not just the data transfer.
