How Lead Routing Works#
Lead routing automatically assigns incoming leads to the appropriate sales representative based on rules you define. This ensures no lead falls through the cracks and every prospect gets timely follow-up.
Routing Methods#
AutomateNexus supports several routing strategies:
- Round Robin — Distributes leads evenly across your team in rotation
- Territory-Based — Routes leads based on geographic region, industry, or account type (see Territory Management)
- Weighted Assignment — Assigns more leads to higher-performing or more available reps
- Custom Rules — Create custom routing rules based on any lead field (source, company size, product interest, etc.)
Setting Up Routing Rules#
Navigate to Lead & Customer Management > Lead Routing to configure your rules:
- Click Create Rule
- Define the conditions (e.g., country equals "United States")
- Select the routing method and target reps
- Set the priority (higher priority rules are evaluated first)
- Enable the rule
Lead Scoring#
Lead scoring assigns a numerical value to each lead based on their attributes and behavior. Higher scores indicate leads more likely to convert. Scoring criteria can include:
- Demographic factors — Job title, company size, industry
- Behavioral signals — Page visits, form submissions, email opens, content downloads
- Engagement recency — More recent interactions score higher
Auto-Assignment#
When a lead meets your routing criteria, AutomateNexus automatically:
- Evaluates the lead against all active routing rules
- Assigns the lead to the matched rep
- Sends a notification to the assigned rep
- Creates an initial follow-up task
You can view routing activity and performance in the Lead Routing dashboard.
