What Are Sales Sequences?#

Sales sequences are automated multi-step outreach workflows that send emails, create tasks, and follow up with leads over a defined schedule. They eliminate manual follow-up and ensure consistent engagement. In AutomateNexus CRM a sequence is a workflow: you build it in the workflow builder under Projects → Workflows (the page is titled Automation), from a template or from scratch.

Building a Sequence#

The workflow canvas lets you create step-by-step flows. A typical sequence looks like this:

  1. Day 1 — Send Email: the initial outreach
  2. Day 3 — Wait Until a reply to the last email, giving up after two days, then Send Email again with a different subject line
  3. Day 5 — Create Task to call the prospect
  4. Day 7 — Send Email with a different value proposition

Each step can be an email or text (Send Email, Send SMS, Send WhatsApp), a pause (Wait / Delay for a number of minutes, hours or days), a wait for behaviour (Wait Until a reply to the last email, the last email to be opened, a click in the last email, or a reply to the last text, with a Give up after limit), a decision (Branch (If / Else) on a field or value), or a task (Create Task). Every step runs for real once the workflow is active.

Pre-Built Templates#

Get started quickly from the Templates tab of the Automation page, where Deploy Template creates a workflow you can then edit:

  • Follow-up Sequence (stops on reply) — Three-touch outreach to every new contact; each email waits for a reply, and a reply hands the contact to a person as a task and ends the sequence
  • Lead Nurturing Drip — A timed series of nurture emails
  • Text, then Email if No Reply, Welcome New Contacts, Re-engage Quiet Customers and Reply Handoff — Further outreach patterns in the same gallery

Enrolling Contacts#

Enroll records individually or in bulk. You can:

  • Select records in the Deals, Contacts or Customers list and choose Enroll in a workflow from the selection bar
  • Open the workflow, click Enrollments and use Enroll a record
  • Let the trigger enroll them: a workflow whose trigger is Record Created, Form Submitted, Deal Stage Changed or another event enrolls each matching record as it happens
  • Have the SDR Agent (AI → SDR Agent) hand qualified leads to one workflow and below-threshold leads to a nurture workflow

The trigger's Enroll each record setting decides whether a record can go through the sequence once, again after a number of days, or every time the trigger fires. A Wait Until step that sees the reply it was waiting for continues down its reply branch, which in the templates ends the sequence and hands the conversation to a person.

Sequence Analytics#

Track performance from the Automation page:

  • Runs, Success and Last run for every workflow in the list, and Runs today and Success rate across all of them
  • Enrollments in the workflow, filtered to All, Active, Done, Failed or Tests
  • History — Every run with its status, start time, duration, trigger data and the result of each step
